Joseph and Chandra Botelho honored as GTI's Drivers of the Month for June

June 2014 Drivers of the MonthGordon Trucking would like to recognize Joe and Chandra Botelho as our June Drivers of the Month, and the first team for 2014.  Having done odd jobs in the past, Joe started driving truck over 10 years ago, and loves every minute of it.  Chandra had worked at the Humane Society for over 10 years before she started driving with her husband.  

The couple joined the Gordon Team Fleet back in December, where they play a major role in servicing our customers that require team transit, such as Amazon and Conway.  David Loper fleet manager states, “The Botelhos didn’t take long learning our system, and their work ethic and commitment to customer service does not go unnoticed.  We were happy to nominate them as Drivers of the Month for those reasons specifically.”

Gordon Trucking competes in Idaho Truck Driving Championships

Gordon Trucking had three drivers compete in the Idaho Truck Driving Championships on June 13th in Meridian, ID.  The competition included over 40 drivers from the state in nine different categories ranging from flat beds, tankers, three axle combo, and sleeper berth.  Brian Ferguson, John Kauten and Tom Kelley from GTI all competed in the five axle sleeper berth category.

Robert Hill honored as GTI's Driver of the Month for May

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Robert Hill as our May Driver of the Month. Robert has been with GTI for almost eight years.  Before Gordon, Robert drove flat beds and LTL for over 10 years.

Robert drives on the 97 fleet running from Eastern Washington and Western Idaho to Northern California.  His strengths include his good attitude, positive thinking, and great communication skills.

GTI’s Driver Trainer Academy graduates five more certified trainers

The latest Driver Trainer Academy, conducted at the company’s Lathrop, Calif. terminal in late May, graduated five new Driver Trainers into the fleet and recertified a sixth, former Trainer.

Completing the four-day Academy certification program were Larry Collins, Marvin Hildebrand, Jonathon Morgan, David Shaw, Jose Vieira and Jason Defoor.

Eugene Burns honored as April GTI's Driver of the Month

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Eugene Burns as our April Driver of the Month. Eugene has been driving truck for over 22 years and has been with GTI the last 4.

Eugene drives on the Lowes Dedicated Fleet in California running from Perris to Modesto and back and is part of the NCA division.  His strengths include his flawless on-time service record and developing relationships with the shippers and receivers he works with.

When he is not driving truck, Eugene likes to attend concerts and enjoys football, especially watching his favorite team the 49ers.

Danual Warlick honored as GTI's March Driver of the Month

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Danual Warlick as our March Driver of the Month.  Danual has been with GTI since November, but has been trucking for over 24 years.  

Danual drives for the Midwest National fleet and typically runs the Midwest and western states.   His strenghts are his detail in planning and his anticipation of potential challenges he could face on a daily basis.  These are traits that he picked up in his 7 years serving our country in the Army.

When he is not driving truck, Danual enjoys spending time with his wife and his five children.  He also enjoys hunting and cooking.

Gordon Trucking repeats at California Truck Association Safety Awards

Gordon Trucking was again presented with two safety awards from the California Trucking Association on April 16 at the Grand Sheraton in Sacramento, Calif.

GTI’s Northern California Fleet that runs primarily between northern and southern California was awarded first place for local fleets in the over 4 million miles category and Gordon Trucking as a whole, received third place in the truckload over 7 million miles division.

Blue Heart gives $18,000 to Oso Mudslide Relief Efforts

Employees of Gordon Trucking and Valley Freightliner gave a combined total of nearly $18,000 through a company match program to the American Red Cross in support of the Oso Mudslide relief efforts.

The tragic event occurred on March 22 when a landslide that broke off a steep hill, roared across the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River and buried a community at Oso, about 55 miles north of Seattle.  The mudslide created a debris wall over 1.5 miles wide and as thick as 70 feet in some places.

GTI is safest U.S. Carrier in its division for fifth straight year

For the fifth consecutive year, Gordon Trucking, Inc. has been named the safest U.S. based trucking company in its division by the Truckload Carriers Association.

Scoring in the 100 million or more miles driven per year division, GTI competed against other truckload companies of the 25 – 50 million miles per year and 50-100 million miles per year.
