Danual Warlick honored as GTI's March Driver of the Month


Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Danual Warlick as our March Driver of the Month.  Danual has been with GTI since November, but has been trucking for over 24 years.  

Danual drives for the Midwest National fleet and typically runs the Midwest and western states.   His strenghts are his detail in planning and his anticipation of potential challenges he could face on a daily basis.  These are traits that he picked up in his 7 years serving our country in the Army.

Gordon Trucking repeats at California Truck Association Safety Awards

Gordon Trucking was again presented with two safety awards from the California Trucking Association on April 16 at the Grand Sheraton in Sacramento, Calif.

GTI’s Northern California Fleet that runs primarily between northern and southern California was awarded first place for local fleets in the over 4 million miles category and Gordon Trucking as a whole, received third place in the truckload over 7 million miles division.

Blue Heart gives $18,000 to Oso Mudslide Relief Efforts


Employees of Gordon Trucking and Valley Freightliner gave a combined total of nearly $18,000 through a company match program to the American Red Cross in support of the Oso Mudslide relief efforts.

The tragic event occurred on March 22 when a landslide that broke off a steep hill, roared across the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River and buried a community at Oso, about 55 miles north of Seattle.  The mudslide created a debris wall over 1.5 miles wide and as thick as 70 feet in some places.  

GTI is safest U.S. Carrier in its division for fifth straight year

For the fifth consecutive year, Gordon Trucking, Inc. has been named the safest U.S. based trucking company in its division by the Truckload Carriers Association.

Scoring in the 100 million or more miles driven per year division, GTI competed against other truckload companies of the 25 – 50 million miles per year and 50-100 million miles per year.

James Jones named 2013 Professional Truck Driver of the Year

Gordon Trucking, Inc. is excited to announce James Jones as its 2013 Driver of the Year recipient.  The prestigious title was declared Saturday, March 15th at the company’s annual business meeting held at the Allenmore Golf Club in Tacoma, Wash.

James joined the other 9 Driver of the Year finalists from across the country in a two day celebration that included lunch with GTI’s Executive team at the company’s headquarters in Pacific, Wash.

Jeffrey Scharlau honored as GTI’s February Driver of the Month


Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Jeffrey Scharlau as our February Driver of the Month, and our second for 2014.

Jeff has 7 years with GTI and has been driving for over 30 years.  

Finalists named for the 2013 Professional Driver of the Year


Gordon Trucking is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2013 Professional Truck Driver of the Year award.  The winner will be announced in the coming weeks and recognized at the 2014 Annual Business Meeting.

In order to be a finalist for Driver of the Year, a company truck driver must meet some remarkable goals set by the company for the entire year and today we’re honored to recognize these outstanding professional truck driving associates.

Gordon Phillips honored as GTI’s January Driver of the Month


Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Gordon Phillips as our January Driver of the Month and our first of 2014.

Gordon has been with GTI for over 9 years.  Before coming to GTI, he drove heavy equipment for 20 years.  Gordon began driving trucks when he was 16 working for his uncle's refuse business.  

Five more GTI drivers join the Certified Driver Trainer ranks


Five Gordon Trucking drivers from across the country were graduated in February as Certified Driver Trainers following a rigorous, four-day program of classes and demonstrations at the Driver Trainer Academy in Lathrop, California.

Sally Brown, Jeffrey Earl, Alexander ‘Grey’ Feaster, Cindy Klawes and Tracy Thompson are now among the company’s more than 40 Certified  Driver Trainers who take aboard less experienced new hires for two to four weeks, providing practical instruction in advanced safe driving skills and company practices as they prepare them for a career as GTI drivers.

GTI named Best Fleet to Drive For by TCA for third straight year


Gordon Trucking was named a top 20 national carrier to drive for by the Truckload Carriers Association and CarriersEdge for the third year in a row.  The annual survey and contest, identifies for-hire trucking companies that provide the best workplace experiences for their drivers.

An official announcement was released on the TCA Web site on Feb 5.  The nomination process began in the fall of 2013 with months of interviews and scoring to determine these top trucking companies that provide the best workplace experience for professional truck drivers.
