Gordon Trucking wins seventh consecutive Safe Fleet of the Year award

Gordon Trucking, Inc. was recognized as Washington states Safe Fleet of the Year by the Washington State Patrol and Washington Trucking Association for the seventh year in a row. The honor was presented to GTI on July 12 at beautiful Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Washington.

The Safe Fleet of the Year award is for common carrier fleets based in Washington State that operate in excess of 5 million miles per year. Criteria for this award include safe miles, overall compliance and providing a positive influence on others in the trucking industry.

Gordon Trucking celebrates grand opening for Boise terminal


On June 12th 2013 Gordon Trucking, Inc. officially opened the doors of their latest terminal located in Boise, ID.  This addition marks the 11th GTI terminal strategically located across the US.

More than 80 people walked through the doors to help welcome GTI to Boise and enjoy a catered lunch. Those in attendance ranged from GTI management, customers, and drivers to neighbors and friends as well as a number of members from the local Chamber of Commerce.

Gordon Trucking assists in Oklahoma tornado relief efforts

Gordon Trucking, Inc. proudly answered the call when the Midwest Food Bank initiated relief efforts by reaching out to members of the Indiana Motor Truck Association shortly after hearing the news of the Oklahoma tornadoes.

Together they helped move relief supplies and family food boxes from Indianapolis to Oklahoma for the victims of the tornado.

David Wickham receives GTI’s May Driver of the Month Award


Gordon Trucking, Inc. is honored to present David Wickham with its May Driver of the Month award.

David is based out of Oscoda, MI and currently runs in an engineered capacity for Wal-Mart out of Michigan in Coldwater, MI.  David has also spent time running specialized 4-axle trailers on the Coca-Cola Dedicated fleet since his hiring back in October.

GTI graduates newest class of Certified Driver Trainers

Five veteran Gordon Trucking drivers became the company’s newest Certified Driver Trainers following four days of highly specialized classes that ended May 3.

Ed Anderson, Matt Deeringer, Torrey Dealicante, James Korous and Mark Hartwick join more than 30 of their Gordon peers across the country as the company’s go-to team for instructing newly hired driving associates on GTI safe-driving practices and operating procedures. 

Deeringer and Korous drive for U.S. fleets primarily in the western states. Anderson and Dealicante drive for the Temperature Control division, and Hartwick is a Midwestern U.S. fleet driver based in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Robert DeJean named GTI’s April Driver of the Month

Gordon Trucking, Inc. is honored to present Robert DeJean with its April Driver of the Month award.

Robert currently works as a local driver in Southern California and is based at the Gordon Trucking terminal in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.  Robert will celebrate his one year anniversary with the company next month.

For the month of April, Robert worked roughly 250 hours and put up some impressive numbers.  Averaging 7.25 miles per gallon, Robert maintained an idle time of less than a quarter of a percent and had a perfect service record.

GTI is Oregon’s safest fleet in its division for second straight year

For the second consecutive year, Gordon Trucking, Inc. has been awarded the safest large carrier fleet in Oregon by Great West Casualty and the Oregon Trucking Association.

The honor was presented to Scott Manthey, vice president of safety and Laura Poteet, regional risk manager on April 19 at the Oregon Safe Carrier awards in Lincoln City, Ore.

Gordon Trucking hosts grand opening event in Pontoon Beach

Gordon Trucking, Inc. opened the doors to its new fully operational terminal in Pontoon Beach, Ill for a grand opening celebration that included the official ribbon cutting for the property on Thursday, April 4.

The event featured members of GTI’s leadership team from our Pacific, Green Bay and Indianapolis terminals and included lunch to all in attendance.  Local community representatives at the event included Rosemarie Brown – executive director of the Southwestern Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Matt Hart – director of the Illinois Trucking Association and John Herzog – director of Madison County economic development.  Several of GTI’s customers and vendors were also in attendance.

GTI receives multiple California safety awards

Gordon Trucking, Inc. was presented with two safety awards from the California Trucking Association on April 4 at the Grand Sheraton in Sacramento, Calif.

GTI’s Northern California Fleet that runs primarily between northern and southern California was awarded first place for local fleets in the 2-4 million miles category and Gordon Trucking as a whole, received third place in the truckload over 7 million miles division.

Robert Bucan receives GTI’s March Driver of the Month Award

Gordon Trucking, Inc. is excited to honor Robert “Bob” Bucan as its Driver of the Month for March.

Bob has been with Gordon Trucking for more than 12 years and currently drives for the Georgia Pacific / Kellogg’s dedicated fleet that runs primarily through Wash., Ore. and Calif.

In March, Bob drove more than 10,500 miles without any service issues.  Also during the month, he averaged seven miles per gallon, had zero over speed and maintained a zero percent idle time.
