Alexandria, Va. - Gordon Trucking, Inc. was named a top 20 national carrier to drive for by the Truckload Carriers Association.
An official announcement was released on the TCA Web site on Jan 27. As stated on the announcement, months of nominations, interviews and scoring determined these top trucking companies that provide the best workplace experience for professional truck drivers
A variety of factors were used in the interviews and scoring to determine the top 20 including work environment, pay, benefits, turnover and fleet-wide safety.
TCA also interviewed a selection of each company’s drivers. The feedback from both driving associates and company management all factored into the scores awarded to each fleet.
“This is a great honor for GTI to receive,” said Steve Gordon, Chief Operating Officer. “Thanks to all of our associates for helping provide a winning environment out on the road."
As mentioned in the release, the best practices that surfaced from this year’s winning fleet interviews indicate trends that many in the trucking industry will want to note. Sign-on bonuses, referrals and safety incentives are increasing interest in driving for these companies.
Now that the winners have been named, the next phase of the contest is to announce the highest scoring fleets from each of two categories: Best Overall Fleet for Owner Operators and Best Overall Fleet for Company Drivers, sponsored by Marsh Canada, Ltd. These overall winners will be honored at the TCA Annual Convention, March 4-7 at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla.
