Gordon Trucking wins third consecutive National Safety Award
For the third-straight year, Gordon Trucking, Inc. has been named the safest U.S. based trucking company in its division by the Truckload Carriers Association.
The divisional winners were announced Jan 30 on TCA’s official Web site and an official release came out of their headquarters in Alexandria, Va.
Sponsored by the Great West Casualty Company, the awards recognize trucking companies that demonstrate a superior commitment to safety and accident reduction. Gordon Trucking was selected in a division that is made up of carriers that traveled 100 million miles or more in a year.
In determining the divisional winners, a fleet’s accident frequency per million miles driven was calculated and then audited by an independent expert to verify their accident frequency numbers.
“Maintaining a stellar safety record is a group effort,” said Douglas Cook, chairman of TCA’s Safety & Security Division. “A trucking company has to get every employee involved. Each of our 18 division winners has worked very hard at being the safest on the roads, and each deserves to be honored and recognized for its achievement.”
The division winners and the to be named two grand prize winners will be recognized during TCA’s Annual Convention this March in Florida and again during TCA’s Safety & Security Division Annual Meeting this May in Oklahoma.
“We are extremely proud of this safety achievement. Operating a safe fleet is our most important responsibility and to be recognized 3 years in a row reinforces how serious Gordon Trucking is about safety,” said Steve Gordon, Chief Operating Officer. “At GTI's core is a team of hard working professionals that make safety a priority each and every day.”
