Ernest Sire is GTI’s January Driver of the Month
Gordon Trucking, Inc. is pleased to announce Ernest (Ernie) Sire as its January Driver of the Month.
While driving for GTI, Ernie put up some impressive numbers in January. His miles per gallon were at 7.47, his idle time below 1 percent and Ernie maintained a perfect service record for the company.
Ernie has been with GTI since 2003 and is currently driving for the Georgia Pacific Dedicated Fleet. His Fleet Manager, Casey Kuper said Ernie is an act to follow.
"You never have to worry about Ernie,” said Casey. “We know that when he hauls a load for our fleet, it’s going to get there on-time, safe and legal.”
In recognition of his achievement, Ernie has been awarded with $250 cash, a truck wash, a $50 gift certificate to the company store and his name on a plaque at each GTI terminal.
Ernie said he was surprised to hear the news of his achievement.
“Casey called and told me I was the winner,” he said. “I know there were other nominees, all deserving of the title. I just try to do what’s right and stay out of trouble.”
When asked if he had plans for the prize money, Ernie said he’d pay off some bills and maybe save the rest for a rainy-day fund.
Eight total drivers from various divisions were nominated for the month of January. Congrats to Hsin-Tao Chiu, John Cisneros, Tim Holmberg, Rob Howard, Dan Kiser, Joey Throneburg and Keith Visovnnaraj on their nominations. All nominees received a $50 gift certificate to GTI’s company store.
GTI would like to thank Ernie and the other seven January nominations for their dedicated service to the company. We are excited to honor more driving associates this year, paying credit where it is due.
Look for February’s Driver of the Month to be announced in early March. GTI’s Driver Managers, Planners and Fleet Managers are reviewing their fleets to provide the next group of nominees.
