GTI wins second consecutive California safety award

California Fleet Safety 2010The California Trucking Association presented Gordon Trucking Inc with its second consecutive safe carrier award on April 27.

The CTA safety awards program judges companies on specific safety performance dimensions including accident frequency, personnel and hiring systems, documented safety policies and procedures, driver-safety training, internal accident handling procedures and participation in the association’s safety activities.

Two weeks prior, GTI received a similar award from the Oregon Trucking Association.

The CTA works together with the state of California and the trucking industry to maintain a collaborative partnership in the areas of safety, compliance and environmental responsibility.  The CTA advocates sustainable transportation policies to maintain a safe and efficient freight movement system for the state of California.

"Safety is priority one at Gordon Trucking,"  said Scott Manthey, vice president of safety.  "We are honored to receive this award from the CTA and the state of California as it represents the hard work of all of our associates working together to maintain a superior safety position within the trucking industry.  Our truck drivers truly care about keeping our highways safe for all who travel on them."

Last July, GTI won its fourth consecutive State Fleet of the Year award in Washington.  The company’s commitment to safety has been recognized at both a state and national level.
