Buske AcquisitionGordon Trucking Inc is announcing the company’s Aug 16 acquisition of Midwest trucking company Buske Lines Inc., currently headquartered in Edwardsville, Ill.

In the deal, Gordon Trucking obtains Buske Lines’ 150 power units and 375 refrigerated and dry-van trailers.  Along with the assets, Gordon Trucking also acquires a 35,000 square foot shop located in Pontoon Beach, Ill.  This expansion will create additional truck driving career opportunities with Gordon Trucking throughout the Midwest Region.

The take over of this midwest based trucking company may have made for more secure jobs for Gordon's core team of employees in the northwest. But it has placed many employees of the trucking company that was taken over in the midwest out on the street looking for work in an extremely tough economy.

RE: jobless

Taking over? GTI didnt walk in and steal this company kicking everyone to the curb. It is called "acquisition". Maybe your response should be directed to who it was aquired from.

If you look at the aquired company's safety scores, it appears to have problems with capital (lots of maintenance issues)

Maybe GTI has saved the jobs of many safe drivers by this "acquisition"

Too many companies have "disappeared" overnight with many put out on the street without even their last check.

I welcome all Buske drivers to the Gordon trucking team. If the they dont want to (or dont qualify to Gordon's standards) good luck with their future endevers.

What I know is that all of our new associates from Buske have been great to work with. We are both learning -- with patience and a bit of understanding we will surely get through the initial bumps.

The biggest problem that I see, and I live here in Edwardsville, and also operate a trucking company here! Is added competition especially for larger carriers in the area, like Henderson, Dynamic,Witte, These carriers are much smaller, then Gordon! Gordon's needs x amount of truckloads, and I'm sure these other carriers will be affected!!!Procter & Gamble owned Buske lines!
