Toby Dyer honored as GTI's Driver of the Month for March

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Toby Dyer as our March Driver of the Month.  Toby has only been with GTI for 5 months, but has been driving truck since 1998.  He was an owner operator for 12 years operating under his own authority out of Clarkston, Wash.  Toby ran flatbed during the summer months hauling everything from aircraft parts to lumber and steel, and in the winter months he would haul onions.  As an owner operator, he drove over 1.7 million miles.  After he sold his truck, he hauled logs and chips for almost 4 years prior to getting hired at GTI.

Zealey Jones honored as GTI's Driver of the Month for February

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Zealey Jones as our February Driver of the Month.  Zealey began with GTI a year ago, but has been driving for over 5 years.  Before driving, he worked in a scrap mill processing steel to recycle.  Zealey was born and raised on a farm in Illinois and has been operating heavy equipment his entire life.

Joseph and Chandra Botelho named 2014 Professional Truck Drivers of the Year

Gordon Trucking, Inc. is excited to announce Joseph and Chandra Botelho as its 2014 Drivers of the Year recipient.  The prestigious title was declared Saturday, February 21st at the company’s annual business meeting held at the Emerald Downs in Auburn, Wash.  This is a first time a team has won Driver of the Year.

Joseph and Chandra joined the other 9 Driver of the Year finalists from across the country in a two day celebration that included lunch with fleet managers including discussions with the GTI maintenance departments and included dinner with GTI’s Executive team.

Robert Skorney honored as GTI’s Driver of the Month for January

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Robert Skorney as our January Driver of the Month.  Robert has been with GTI for 3 and a half years and has been driving truck for almost 5 years.  Before trucking he was a high school math and science teacher for over 18 years. 

Robert drives on the Temperature Control fleet and runs all over the 48 states.  One of his strengths is his attention to detail.

Finalists named for the 2014 Professional Driver of the Year

Gordon Trucking is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2014 Professional Truck Driver of the Year award.  The winner will be announced in the coming weeks and recognized at the 2015 Annual Business Meeting.

In order to be a finalist for Driver of the Year, a company truck driver must meet some remarkable goals set by the company for the entire year and today we’re honored to recognize these outstanding professional truck driving associates.

The finalists come from various over the road, regional, and local fleets and locations throughout the U.S.  All finalists posted a perfect service record in 2014, with no preventable incidents, a CSA score of zero and no tickets or violations.

David Cowan honored as GTI's Driver of the Month for December

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize David Cowan as our December Driver of the Month.  David has been with GTI for almost 4 years and has been driving truck for 6 years.  Before trucking, he had jobs in construction, being a meat cutter, and also serving his country as a member of the U.S. Navy. 

David drives for the Southern California Local fleet and has a dedicated position with our Johnson and Johnson account.  His primary run is from Fontana to Inglewood, but helps out with trailer moves and other needs at the Rancho Cucamonga terminal.

GTI delivers Wreaths Across America remembering fallen soldiers

For the third straight year Gordon Trucking volunteered to haul wreaths in commemoration of fallen heroes for Wreaths Across America (WAA).  The team drivers Ed Combs and Crystal Ahlstedt, both being veterans themselves, were honored to take the load of wreaths from Kanasa and deliver them to two cemetaries in Nevada.

Beryl Hudson honored as GTI's November Driver of the Month

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Beryl Hudson as our November Driver of the Month.  Beryl has been with GTI just over 15 months and has been driving truck on and off since 1972.  

In 1969, at the age of 17, Beryl joined the United States Marines Corps.  He had a dual MOS, Diesel Mechanic and Generator Electrician and spent 18 months in Vietnam.  He attributes the success he has had as a truck driver to the things he learned in the Marines.  “By the grace of God and by maintaining Marine Corps instincts, I have never been in an accident," said Beryl.

Rory Jones honored as GTI's October Driver of the Month

Gordon Trucking would like to recognize Rory Jones as our October Driver of the Month. Rory has been with GTI for a little over a year, but has been driving truck for more than six years.  Before trucking, Rory was a welder at a manufacturing plant for 20 years.  He made the decision to go trucking after his youngest child graduated high school.

Rory drives on the US fleet, which runs all 48 contiguous states.  A few of his strengths include being a great communicator, a hard worker, and his dedication to customer service. Rory is always willing to help regardless of the circumstances.  He is always willing to coach new drivers and has always stepped up to help with some difficult overnight runs when needed.
